Notes & Journal

TradeVision offers three levels of notes: Trade Notes, Day Notes, and Global Notes. Capture context at every level and build a searchable knowledge base.

Trade Notes

Notes attached to individual trades:

• When logging – Add notes in the trade entry form
• When editing – Update notes on any trade
• What to include – Rationale, lessons learned, emotional state

Day Notes

Session-based notes for daily review:

• Pre-market – Plan, bias, key levels
• Post-market – What happened, lessons, tomorrow's plan
• Access – From the Journal or Dashboard

Global Notes

Notes not tied to a specific trade or day:

• Strategy insights – Long-term learnings
• Watchlists – Symbols to watch
• Calculations – Position sizing formulas, etc.
• Routines – Pre-market routines, checklists

Accessing Notes

• Journal – Go to Journal in the sidebar
• Notes V2 – Enhanced notes interface at Journal → Notes V2
• Trade detail – Notes appear when viewing a trade

Organization

• Search – Find notes by keyword
• Filter – By date, type, tags
• Tags – Custom tags for organization

Best Practices

• Log immediately – While context is fresh
• Use day notes – Pre and post market
• Build global notes – Accumulate wisdom over time
• Review regularly – Revisit notes for patterns

• Link to trades – Reference specific trades in day notes
• Use templates – Consistent structure for day notes
• Export – Backup important notes
