Playbooks
Define and enforce your trading rules with structured playbooks and pre-trade checklists.
Playbooks
Playbooks turn your best setups into repeatable, testable strategies. Define entry rules, exit rules, and risk parameters—then track how well you follow them.
What is a Playbook?
A playbook is a structured definition of a trading setup. It includes:
- Entry criteria – When you're allowed to enter
- Exit rules – When to take profit or cut losses
- Risk parameters – Position size, stop loss, take profit
- Session and timeframe – When this setup applies
Creating a Playbook
- Go to Strategy → Playbooks
- Click Add Playbook
- Enter a name (e.g., "Breakout - 9:30 AM")
- Add entry and exit rules in the description
- Save
Linking Trades to Playbooks
When logging a trade:
- Open Add Trade or edit an existing trade
- Select the Playbook that matches this setup
- The trade is now linked for performance tracking
Playbook Performance
The Strategy Dashboard shows:
- Win rate by playbook
- Profit factor by playbook
- Total P&L by playbook
- Trade count per playbook
Use this to identify which setups actually make money and which to retire.
Pre-Trade Checklist
Before entering a trade, run through your checklist:
- Go to Tools → Pre-Trade Checklist
- Create custom checklist items (e.g., "Setup matches playbook", "Risk defined")
- Mark each item before entering
- Review adherence in your trade journal
Best Practices
- One playbook per setup – Don't mix different strategies
- Be specific – Vague rules are hard to enforce
- Review monthly – Retire underperforming playbooks
- Link every trade – Unlinked trades don't contribute to playbook stats
